How to set up SMS messaging in Resalys

When you sign up to an SMS messaging service, you get the option to send SMS from two locations in the Resalys back office, each for different purposes:

  1. From the list of guests in house, or from the express check-in/check-out page, you can send an SMS to a selection of guests present at your establishment at any given time.
    Example: “Karaoke night this Thursday 18th July”, or “Don’t forget to arrange your outgoing inventory before 10am tomorrow”.
    This is a generic message – it cannot be personalised with the guest’s details or information from their booking. It does however get noted in the booking history and the customer record of the guest in question.
  2. From the document template settings page, you can programme SMS to be sent as part of your booking document delivery procedure (often coupled with an email or letter containing the full document).
    Example: you wish to send an SMS to inform customers that they will receive an exchange voucher by post for their stay starting in less than a week. This SMS message can be personalised with the customer’s details or information from their booking provided it contains specific tags. It’s noted in the booking history (in the documents tab of the booking) and the customer record.

Note that you can also choose to send a document by SMS only (in which case only the text of the SMS will be sent, and the attached OpenOffice template will be excluded).

Currently only SMS messaging to French numbers is supported in Resalys (numbers beginning 06 or 07). All other number formats (including (33) 6, 00336, +336, etc.) will be considered invalid. If you wish to use SMS messaging to overseas French territories, this can be set in your selected service provider account.
